A Crazy Lazy Day

Snuggle Buddies

Dad and mom decided to get me some new fun things yesterday. I got a pink bunny rabbit bottle for my kennel and a matching pink food bowl. It is a lot of fun drinking out of the bunny bottle. I lick and lick and water keeps coming out. I also got a rawhide bone and a puppy teething toy. I am very loved (spoiled).
Today I spent quite some time all by myself. Dad and mom left and mom didn't get back until after dark. I was really bored all day. I tore up my papers in my kennel for amusement. Mom didn't bring dad home. That made me all nervous. I ran all over looking for him. I looked under all the cushions and everything. Then I pitched a fit. I ran all over then jumped up on the couch and into moms bowl of yogurt and granola. Mom said dad will be home later he has some things to do before he comes home. I am going to bug her until he is here. I don't like it at all. Dad keeps me cozy and warm when we cuddle on the couch together. I do get to go to Grandpa and grandma's. I am so excited.
I am going to go sniff around for a minute.

Stewing for Stew

Today mom made her delicious stew. The whole house smelled of all sorts of delectable flavors. She promised I would get some later when it cooled down. She makes her stew a little spicy though. I know this because, dad was sweating bullets by the time he was done with his bowl. I can't wait to have mine. It is driving me loopey.
There is a big mess in the kitchen for mom to clean up now. Maybe she will let me lick the bowl. Then I can get covered head to toe in the yummy stuff. WOO HOO!!!!!
Mom is going to reveal her recipe to everyone....... Here she is.....

spicy Winter Stew

1 lb. Stew meat
1/2 cup flour
1/4 Cup vegetable oil
1/2 Green pepper
1/2 Onion
2 Stalks celery
2 Cups baby carrots
8 Small potatoes
1/2 Can tomato paste
1/2 Can corn
1/2 Can green beans
1 Can mushrooms
1 Can Diced tomatoes
1/4 Cup Franks hot sauce
1 Tablespoon onion powder
1/2 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 Tablespoon lemon pepper
1 Teaspoon fresh chopped garlic
1/2 cup Wondra

1.First take your stew meat and put it is a ziplock bag with 1/2 cup of flour. Shake it vigorously until all meat is covered thoroughly with flour. Put 1/4 cup oil in fry pan and cook meat over low heat until lightly browned on the outside.
2.Chop onions, green pepper and celery. Cut each baby carrot and small potato in half. Add corn, mushrooms, and diced tomatoes to pan. Do not drain vegetables!! Next add tomato paste with two can fulls of water. Blend thoroughly.
3.Cook on high heat for 6 1/2 hours, in crockpot. If using stove top cook on medium/low 3 1/2 hours. Make sure to put a lid on the pan. Stir frequently.
4. Thicken stew with Wondra flour, and let set for 30 minutes.

Enjoy everyone.
It is time again to go outside and play tug of war for a while. Then of course it is bed time. Can you believe dad and mom are putting me in the bathroom until I am house broken. I use to sleep in a crate on their bed. Mom says I whine too much and she can't sleep. So now I get the bathroom. Oh well, I guess it is bigger than the crate.

Playing in the Leaves

Can You See Me Now????

I am thinking, I like fall the best. I get to chew on and jump around in a bunch of leaves outside. The acorns are fun too. I got to chase mom around while she raked leaves. It is fun to see the big rake fly across the lawn and drag all the leaves down the hill.
Tonight there are a bunch of cans on the dining room table. Mom says she is getting ready to make her soups and sauces. She wants to bring Grandpa Hart some this weekend. I heard her say tomorrow is stew day. Sounds scrumptious to me. I like being under moms feet while she is cooking. Sometimes she drops stuff, and I get to eat it. Mmmmmm.....
Yesterday I got to go to the store with dad and mom. They always take me along in a little doggie purse. sometimes when mom wears her bouncy shoes I get kinda icky. It is so hard staying quiet when we grocery shop. There are so many yummy things all around. I wonder if that is how doggie heaven is. Although, I am NOT a dog!! I am a princess. I think my name is actually, "Princess NO". I got three new toys today. A tennis ball on a rope with a squeaky teddy bear at the other end, a squeaky tiger and a squeaky giraffe. I love things that squeak. I would squeeze them for hours if I could get away with it. Mom says they get on her nerves after awhile. I always leave them on the floor, I never put them on her nerves.
Dad crashed on the couch, I think I am going to crawl in and find a spot to snuggle with him.
Good night.
